Google Gemini Gets Passes To Your AI Chats

In a blog post on Thursday, Google revealed that its Gemini AI chatbot can now customize responses depending on the topics of past exchanges. Gemini can recollect information you shared in another conversation thread or recap a prior conversation you had with it.
This means you won’t need to go through earlier threads for further information or reiterate what you’ve already told Gemini.
English-speaking users of Google One AI Premium, a $20/month AI chatbot subscription, will now be able to recall chats thanks to Gemini. According to Google, the recall tool will be made available to users with enterprise accounts and in more languages in the upcoming weeks.
Although the goal of the feature is to make Gemini more flexible and personalized, not all users will be happy about the idea of the platform keeping historical data.
Google claims that it is giving customers the option to examine, remove, or specify how long it will retain their conversation history in order to allay privacy concerns. Gemini’s “My Activity” page allows users to completely disable the recall feature. Additionally, Google states that it never uses user conversation history to build AI models.
Nevertheless, a number of AI chatbot businesses have started experimenting with recall and memory.
Better memory is one of ChatGPT’s most desired features, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
In the past year, both Google and OpenAI have given their AI chatbots access to broader “memory” capabilities. These enable ChatGPT and Gemini to retain information about you, like your preferred method of address, your dietary restrictions, and whether you would rather ride a bike than drive a car.
Nevertheless, your entire chat history is not automatically remembered and recalled by these current memory functions.
