Google Gutters DEI Employing Goals

Google is now no longer having the diversity for hiring the target. They will review the diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. According to the email which is sent to the employees is explored by the Wall Street Journal. Google is now joining the other companies and rolling back the DEI practice, especially the DEI practices that have all come under fire from the conservative group. Amazon and Meta also have rolled back DEI measures in the past few months.
Google is now first implemented the DEI target in 2009. Then they set up a goal and increase the hires from the underrepresented groups by 30% in 2020.According to its latest 2024 diversity report among the leaders 5.7% identified as Black and 7.5% identified as Latino.
According to the email. Google is asked whether it will continue releasing its diversity reports and also can be evaluated if any of its programs will need to comply with the attest court rulings or the executive orders aiming at curbing DEI measures.
A Google spokesperson commented:
“We’re committed to creating a workplace where all our employees can succeed and have equal opportunities, and over the last year we’ve been reviewing our programs designed to help us get there. We’ve updated our 10-k language to reflect this, and as a federal contractor, our teams are also evaluating changes required following recent court decisions and executive orders on this topic.”
